Welcome to San Carlos Development Board, Inc.

San Carlos Development Board, Inc. (SCDBI) is a multi-sector-represented non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization that assumes the responsibility of leading and coordinating the effort to implement the San Carlos City Master Development Plan (SCC-MDP). It was first conceptualized during the development of the SCC-MDP. The organization was designed to have effective representation from as large a part of society as was possible under a Council of Advisers, and an executive body under its Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is composed of seven members with sufficient representation from the private sector, the NGO community, the finance sector, the academe, and the Church.

SCDBI started its operation on June 11, 2002.

 
San Carlos City Initiates an Education Summit to Attain Basic Education Excellence

San Carlos City has constantly promoted innovative development initiatives that make it a model for best local governance practice. This is seen in the various national awards it received for its numerous projects that are considered the first in the country.

It is initiating a program, an Education Summit, to provide strategic direction for improving Basic Education in the City. The Summit, dubbed the “San Carlos Education Summit: Basic Education Excellence Towards MDG Realization,” is the city’s response to localize and realize the national commitment to attain the Millennium Development Goals 2 which seeks to attain Universal Primary Education.

San Carlos City was among the 10 cities awarded for having outstanding local governance programs. There is now an ongoing effort to replicate the San Carlos Watershed Management Project on a wider scale, which would involve 11 cities and municipalities in Negros.
